Done for a PE "weekly portrait" assignment. When I read ~cozyfire's character information for Raven, a three-year old genetic experiment with the body development of a 12-year old and wings so heavy that walking and just standing is difficult -- I knew I wanted to do something that showed Raven's childlike mannerisms in some way contrasted with her body development.

I happen to have a teenage sister (oh crap she's going off to college in a month!) who has this habit of napping in the exact same position she did as an infant. So I sorta, uh, stalked her for a while. Eventually, she fell asleep in that position, I snapped photos, and voila! Fabulous reference image! (And the sister still doesn't know she was ever photographed, bwahaha.)

I found this really soothing to draw, despite the fact that I am not used to drawing feathered wings on human figures (I'm more a "draconic" drawing type), nor am I much good at drawing kids. I'm told she looks closer to 14, but...I'm glad I got that close at all.

I hope I can color this some day.
